Cambodian Adventure

This is a shanty town we saw from a bridge. It's hard to see but everything is made from cardboard, plywood scraps, basically whatever they can find. Poverty is very widespread in Cambodia. What you spend for a meal at McDonalds would be a month's income for many of these people.
Remember that the next time you go out to eat, and mybe consider donating some money to an international  relief  group. Really, a few dollars would make a huge difference to most of these people. The very fact that you have an internet connection in your home to view these pages makes you richer than many of them will ever be.

Cambodian people have tremendous spirit and are trying to recover from decades of war and poverty. If the other nations of the world would stop using their wonderful country for target practice and waging war there they could rebuild it back to the way it used to be, which was very modern and beautiful. To walk around Cambodia is sometimes very sad, as you can see hints of the former beauty and graciousness that were everywhere at one time. Beautiful tiled sidewalks, stately buildings with fabulous architechture, and above all, the genuinely nice people who smile at you everywhere you go. I've been many places around the world but I never felt so welcomed as I did in Cambodia.

If you have it in your heart, consider helping them. Even a little bit can make a big difference.
Any money I receive from this page will go directly to the Aid Cambodia Fund (www.aidcambodia.org).
